This role is a unique and exciting opportunity to lead the team responsible for the Channel Islands & Isle of Man (CIIOM) wealth management products and propositions. The role reports directly into the Head of Customer Value Management and will lead a team of experienced professionals with strong technical expertise in asset and liability product management.. Made up of 2 brands servicing international expatriate clients (HSBC Expat) and local domestic customers across the islands, the CIIOM business is today responsible for over 150k customers. As a strategic provider of liquidity for the non-ring fenced bank, as well as being recognised as a priority international market within the global RBWM strategy, the CIIOM business is at a critical point in its growth story.. Key responsibilities of the role include:. Overseeing CIIOM's asset and liabilities products and propositions to ensure they deliver an outstanding customer experience. This includes lending (secured and unsecured), savings and current accounts.. Driving retail banking product and proposition development, pricing, retention, service, communication and product management across both Expat and Domestic brands. Ensuring our retail banking products and services meet the unique needs of CIIOM's Expat and Domestic customers. Defining and owning the sales process & related policies across all channels. Delivering thought leadership and driving strategy on how HSBC should deliver world class retail banking propositions to help our customers fulfil their hopes and dreams and realise their ambitions.. Representing the team at senior management fora to proactively influence strategy and implementation.. Ensure that products and services are designed and implemented in line with the letter and spirit of regulation to ensure world class management of Conduct Risk. Alongside the delivery of these responsibilities, the Head of Assets and Liabilities will develop, drive and monitor the commercialisation of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for all retail banking products as defined above including driving appropriate marketing, PR and distribution support activities. Principal Accountabilities:. P&L oversight and management for all RBWM asset and liability products. Optimisation of RBWM Balance Sheet, identifying opportunities and mitigating risks to plan. Responsible for income plans, agreeing AOP/ROP targets in relation to retail products. Driving performance and risk management for the products and services under scope of responsibility. Provide subject matter expertise from the Product & Services team to support development of new propositions. Execute products & services strategy in line with Proposition parameters. Recommend product pricing per group guidelines. Manage back book; report performance. Conduct regular product range reviews. Support CRM to interpret results & develop ideas. Work with Risk & Finance to understand sub-segment exposure. Provide local input & insight to make business cases for product decisions; share with local Proposition. Understand local competitive environment by product. .. Experience, Skills and Qualifications. Educated to degree level or equivalent - desirable. Strong knowledge of and business exposure to range of retail banking products.. Proven expertise in product management - understanding Compliance and Legal responsibilities, managing in a complex cross-border environment with multiple regulatory frameworks and an international distribution network. Ability to analyse detailed financial, market and competitor data and make recommendations.. Experience of balance sheet management with strong numerical and analytical skills. Strong stakeholder management. Passionate about putting the customer at the heart of everything we do, balanced with commercial realism (Treating Customer Fairly principles) Highly collaborative - ability to work across other teams to engage/inspire and develop joined up/cohesive plans. Self-motivated and change orientated - ability to work independently and in a team as required. Ability to motivate others, deliver on targets and escalate when needed. Strong evidence of leadership. Well developed planning and organisational skills with the tenacity to drive through results. Strong emphasis on problem solving and strategic thinking strong customer focus & excellent interpersonal skills, with particular emphasis on stakeholder management, influencing and negotiating at all levels. RBWM CIIOM provides Banking Services to 160,000 clients across 2 brands: Expat and Domestic branch network..
